Here are some online resources for learning English, that you can use for self-guided learning of English. For more ideas, see BIT/Self-guided learning.

There are a number of programs available from BBC worldserver 6 minute english, that have audio and script, such as this one, on 'spring cleaning'. The programs are delivered in relatively slowly and very clearly spoken English, and key points are repeated, so they are easier to follow than just a news broadcast.

Programs can be downloaded, but are not under an open license.

Sometimes they can related to the BBC 6 minute English, such as this one on 'spring cleaning', but most of the time, they are stand-alone quizzes. Quizzes can be done online, or downloaded as a pdf.

It is a nice site you can improve you English, and it is a free site for English lessons.

I did a placement test. It was looking to be simple but it was tricky. I learned something.

I think this site is useful to others.
